The Journey

The Search & Surrender to the Guru

A sacred journey from relentless seeking to complete surrender, culminating in the realization of the Supreme Truth.

Sri Yogi Guruji The Divine Search

The Relentless Quest for God

Seeking Experience, Not Belief

From his earliest youth, Sri Yogi Guruji was consumed by one profound question: "Can God be experienced directly?" Rather than accepting spiritual truths through scripture alone, he embarked on a relentless pilgrimage across holy rivers, ancient temples, forests, and the abodes of realized saints throughout India. His search was not for knowledge—it was for direct realization.

The Cosmic Initiation

The Cosmic Meditation of the Saptarishis

Communion with the Seven Great Rishis

During his teenage years, the revered ascetic Swami Sivananda Saraswati instructed Sri Guruji in a rare form of cosmic meditation. Every night, he would lie motionless on the terrace of his ancestral home, gazing unwaveringly at the Saptarishi constellation (Ursa Major). Through months of disciplined practice, his consciousness gradually transcended bodily awareness and merged with the subtle vibrations of the cosmos. In profound silence, he began receiving intuitive wisdom from the timeless lineage of the ancient Rishis—an experience that forever transformed his perception of reality.

The Saint in the Thatched Hut

At the age of twelve, Sri Guruji heard of a mysterious saint known as Olickal Swami, who lived in a remote village in Vellilamkandam, Idukki. Accompanied by a relative, the young seeker travelled through forests to meet the saint. Although Olickal Swami's youngest son initially refused to allow visitors inside, Sri Guruji remained steadfast until the doors of grace finally opened.

Four Miracles That Changed His Life

👁 The Illusion of Snakes

Before entering, Guruji saw the entire floor covered with writhing serpents. Trusting the saint's words, he stepped forward fearlessly—only to discover that every snake had vanished.

The Divine Fragrance

Though dressed in torn clothes, Olickal Swami radiated an extraordinary fragrance resembling sandalwood and jasmine, revealing his hidden spiritual greatness.

The Golden Mountain

When Guruji asked, "Can you show me God?", the saint pointed toward a mountain. Moments later, the entire landscape transformed into a dazzling realm of radiant gold.

The Prophecy

Olickal Swami lovingly blessed the boy, revealing that although he would certainly attain God, his destined Guru was another great master waiting for him.

Decades later, in 2023—36 years after this encounter—Sri Guruji crossed paths again with Olickal Swami's son, now a Kalaripayattu master and Marma specialist. Overcome with emotion, the son humbly acknowledged that while he had failed to recognize his own father's spiritual greatness at the time, the 12-year-old Sri Guruji had perceived it instantly.

Age 16 · Marunthuvazh Malai

Meeting the Eternal Guru

Surrender at the Feet of Srimath Paramahamsa Ananda Kalidasa Swami

Marunthuvazh Malai The cave at Marunthuvazh Malai

At sixteen, Sri Guruji heard of the legendary recluse Srimath Paramahamsa Ananda Kalidasa Swami, who lived in complete solitude on Marunthuvazh Malai—the sacred mountain believed to be a fragment of Lord Hanuman's Sanjeevini hill. With no transport and nearly one hundred kilometres separating him from the mountain, he began walking with unwavering determination. The moment he reached the cave, he prostrated fully before the master. Though Kalidasa Swami silently walked away without acknowledging him, Sri Guruji knew within his heart that his lifelong search had finally ended.

The Fire of Discipleship

The Tests of Absolute Surrender

Faith Beyond Logic

The Sacred Prasad

Learning that his Guru's discarded meal was being eaten by a stray dog, Guruji rushed downhill, gently moved the animal aside, and gratefully consumed the remaining grains as divine Prasad. In that very moment, the dog vanished and Lord Dattatreya appeared in radiant form, blessing his unwavering devotion.

The Snake Pit

Kalidasa Swami pointed toward an active serpent hole and commanded Guruji to place his hand inside. Without hesitation or fear, he obeyed. The serpent peacefully glided over his hand and disappeared, revealing that complete surrender dissolves fear itself.

Having passed every test of humility and surrender, Guruji was stripped of all worldly identity, anointed with sacred waters, and led into the Pillathadam Cave by his Master. Seated in an immovable yogic posture, he entered Nirvikalpa Samadhi—the highest state of complete absorption into the Supreme Reality. For several months, he remained beyond hunger, thirst, time, and sensory awareness. When he finally emerged, his body had become fragile, but his consciousness had awakened fully into the boundless Truth. Kalidasa Swami personally restored his physical strength with sacred herbal oils and blessed him as an Avadhoota destined to uplift humanity.

Year 2021

The Return After 32 Years

A Disciple Returns to the Sacred Mountain

Thirty-two years after attaining enlightenment, Sri Yogi Guruji returned to Marunthuvazh Malai in 2021. As he approached the sacred caves, an elderly Swami residing on the mountain immediately recognized him with immense joy and reverence. The reunion was deeply emotional, for the Swami remembered Guruji from the days of Srimath Paramahamsa Ananda Kalidasa Swami.

"Among all who came to Kalidasa Swami, only this young disciple stayed with him without fear. Everyone else trembled before his presence. Kalidasa Swami was like a lion."

The Swami recalled how seekers were often unable to remain near Kalidasa Swami because of the Master's fierce spiritual radiance. Yet Sri Yogi Guruji alone remained at his feet with complete surrender, serving him with unwavering love and fearlessness. That return was not merely a revisit to a mountain—it was the reunion of a disciple with the sacred ground where his soul had awakened.
